There are several 'end of time' prophecies throughout each book of the New Testament; each of which are another symptom of the return of Jesus Christ. Some of these have been fulfilled and usually dismissed and forgotten, documented as nothing more than a natural phenomenon. (Source)
However there are prophecies beyond earthly nature which men must fulfill. Some of these prophecies are in opposition to Jesus Christ. In Luke 18:8, Jesus predicted that atheism would be widespread.
From this, some might draw the conclusion that Jesus influenced these atheists; He hardened their hearts and condemns them for the actions which He caused. Anybody who holds this position is in error. (While that is the case for Islam's Allah, it is not the case for Jesus Christ.)
God does not influence every action. God did not write the Holocaust, nor did He write the famine or any of the worldly suffering which we see today. He was able to predict it because He knows the nature of men. He knows the specific nature of every single human being.
This is how He was able to predict that Peter the apostle would deny Him thrice. For God, it is not a matter of rendering a prediction and then using His ultimate power to make it a reality. It is a matter of knowing the nature of human beings and the nature of the world. God knows every action that will occur, but He does not necessarily influence them to occur.
Some people become so immersed in the 'butterfly effect' philosophy that they think God is influencing every little action. From wearing red socks to watching pornography.
Therefore I am inclined to be very clear. God does not cause anybody to commit a sin. God does not cause a man to blaspheme the Holy Spirit, nor does He cause a man to commit murder. God will not make somebody sin and then punish them for that sin.
Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Romans 6:12 God does not imprison you in your sin. You imprison yourself. The predestination excuse is a fallacy.
